MARVELous movie and soundtrack? said no one ever....until...

Marvel Entertainment, the ones responsible for almost all of your favorite super hero movies, like Spider-Man, Iron-Man, all Captain America movies, and all Avengers movies. All in all awesome movies but none of those super hero movies screams awesome music and soundtrack. You don't really associate a scene in Captain America with a song in the movie. That typically isn't what Marvel is known for, until....

Guardians of the Galaxy, the bright light in a sea of over done super hero movies. This movie is so different than your typical Marvel movie, it is so incredibly funny, thrilling, emotional and even has romance in it. Not to say that the other Marvel super hero movies don't also have those things but Guardians of the Galaxy goes above and beyond in those departments it makes the movie seem more like an enjoyable movie compared to the typical movie of nothing but jammed packed fight scenes and filler scenes to get to the epic battle scene (looking at you Avengers movies.)

Not only is this movie such a feel good movie.... (yes I'm gonna say it) this movie's soundtrack is like no other.....the main character and opening sequence literally starts with a mixtape going into a cassette player and the song "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede begins to play, its epic and its memorable and dare I even say MARVELous. The movie's main character Starlord who is played by everyone's favorite funny guy Chris Pratt, loves music and his mixtape is played throughout the movie. His mixtape includes great songs such as Jackson 5 "I Want You Back" Marvin Gaye's "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and always famous, favorite karaoke song, Rupert Holmes "Escape (The PiƱa Colada Song)"

Guardians of the Galaxy is not your typical Marvel movie, yeah there's super heroes fighting bad guys, but even then they aren't your typical Marvel superheroes and villains they are so much better than that which makes it such a great movie. Even if you don't watch the movie, the soundtrack is not one to pass up listening to and even using as a playlist on your phone. It is so good it's out of this world...galaxy. :)

"Why so serious....?"

But for real lighten up, because Halloween is tomorrow and so far it seems the number 1 costumes for tomorrow are going to be the Joker and Harley Quinn from this years epic movie Suicide Squad.

It's no surprise that everyone wants to dress up as the characters from Suicide Squad. It was a blockbuster of a movie with incredible award winning actors such as Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and Viola Davis. It is action packed, humorous, and thrilling, but beyond all the great things its soundtrack has hits that have been topping the billboard charts since before the movie even came out.

The soundtrack is very diverse in terms of the artists but all the songs fit into this movie so seamlessly and make this movie even more enjoyable (if even possible.) The soundtrack includes songs from rappers like Eminem, Logic, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne, but also songs from EDM's favorite Skrillex, Alternative band Twenty One Pilots, and also songs from the very famous Rick James, and Etta James.

So whether you are one of the many dressing up as one of these characters for Halloween or not this movie is definitely one to watch and this soundtrack is definitely one to listen to over and over again.

The STRANGER the Better....

With Halloween right around the corner, I figured I'd put you guys onto an amazing show that is a little scary, kinda freaky and really strange. Stranger Things also a Netflix original show (Netflix really knows how to make good shows) is a show that takes place in the 80s starring Winona Ryder, it is filled with Sci-Fi, nostalgia, Goonies/ET/Aliens vibes and really good music.

This show might not seem like the sort of show to have good music or any music other than sci-fi sounds but it has awesome original music and 80s music, like the song "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by The Clash, which is a reoccurring song throughout the first season, and other popular 80s songs such as Corey Hart's "Sunglasses At Night" and artists like The Smiths, The Bangles and many more. Although this show has good music it is still at its core very STRANGE, but it's the perfect show to put you in the Halloween Spirit.

The Get Down...more like GET UP AND WATCH THIS SHOW

The Get Down is a relatively new Netflix original show that came out last August. The Get Down is about teenagers living in the Bronx in the late 1970s early 1980s, their lives and music discovery at the end of the disco era leading into the hip-hop era. With executive producers such as hip hop legends Nas and Grand Master Flash, this show is oozing with music that will make any music lover so appreciative and addicted to this show.

In each episode of this series there are many popular songs from the late 70s and early 80s that make its way into the scenes, also incorporated into the episodes are songs made specifically for this show and the writers and producers do a really good job of making the songs sound like they were made in this era even though they were made and produced in 2016.

Some artists music featured in this show include of course Grand Master Flash (he is a producer of the show) also Earth, Wind & Fire, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Kool and the Gang, Nina Simone, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, James Brown and Donna Summer. Those are just some of the artists that have music in this 6 episode show, and with more episodes on the way and the show moving more into the hip-hop era the new episodes are sure to have much more amazing artists within the show. This show is definitely a must watch, so get up and watch The Get Down. :)

"Don't You (Forget About Me)" but really please don't forget about me and read this :)

With new shows and movies coming out every other day its hard to weed out the good ones versus the bad ones, the amazing ones versus the decent ones. I've found that for me the shows and movies that become my favorite, the ones that make me say "oh my gosh you NEED to see this" are the ones whose scenes include the perfect music. The shows and movies who take the time to find the best song to help make a scene the most it can be, those are the shows and movies people need in their lives. The shows/movies whose soundtrack you want to download and listen to over and over, the ones where you can hear a song and automatically think of that movie, the show or the exact scene it's in, that's when you know it resonated with you more than just something you once watched.

Classic movies like The Breakfast Club are one of those movies. Just reading the words The Breakfast Club probably got a whole slew of 80's music to start playing in your head, especially the famous "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by the Simple Minds. The Breakfast Club and "Don't You" go hand in hand. It's hard to think about The Breakfast Club without thinking of that song and its hard to hear that song without picturing Judd Nelson's character John Bender lifting his arm in the iconic last scene of the movie.

Including this iconic scene and song this movie is made up of an amazing soundtrack that seamlessly fits this entire movie
