The Get Down...more like GET UP AND WATCH THIS SHOW

The Get Down is a relatively new Netflix original show that came out last August. The Get Down is about teenagers living in the Bronx in the late 1970s early 1980s, their lives and music discovery at the end of the disco era leading into the hip-hop era. With executive producers such as hip hop legends Nas and Grand Master Flash, this show is oozing with music that will make any music lover so appreciative and addicted to this show.

In each episode of this series there are many popular songs from the late 70s and early 80s that make its way into the scenes, also incorporated into the episodes are songs made specifically for this show and the writers and producers do a really good job of making the songs sound like they were made in this era even though they were made and produced in 2016.

Some artists music featured in this show include of course Grand Master Flash (he is a producer of the show) also Earth, Wind & Fire, Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Kool and the Gang, Nina Simone, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, James Brown and Donna Summer. Those are just some of the artists that have music in this 6 episode show, and with more episodes on the way and the show moving more into the hip-hop era the new episodes are sure to have much more amazing artists within the show. This show is definitely a must watch, so get up and watch The Get Down. :)

"Don't You (Forget About Me)" but really please don't forget about me and read this :)

With new shows and movies coming out every other day its hard to weed out the good ones versus the bad ones, the amazing ones versus the decent ones. I've found that for me the shows and movies that become my favorite, the ones that make me say "oh my gosh you NEED to see this" are the ones whose scenes include the perfect music. The shows and movies who take the time to find the best song to help make a scene the most it can be, those are the shows and movies people need in their lives. The shows/movies whose soundtrack you want to download and listen to over and over, the ones where you can hear a song and automatically think of that movie, the show or the exact scene it's in, that's when you know it resonated with you more than just something you once watched.

Classic movies like The Breakfast Club are one of those movies. Just reading the words The Breakfast Club probably got a whole slew of 80's music to start playing in your head, especially the famous "Don't You (Forget About Me)" by the Simple Minds. The Breakfast Club and "Don't You" go hand in hand. It's hard to think about The Breakfast Club without thinking of that song and its hard to hear that song without picturing Judd Nelson's character John Bender lifting his arm in the iconic last scene of the movie.

Including this iconic scene and song this movie is made up of an amazing soundtrack that seamlessly fits this entire movie
